MEDINA HONEYTOWN

CHAPTER 58 - OHIO GOODSAM CLUB

COME CAMP WITH US

About

During the Ohio Good Sam Spring Rally in 1990 the Ohio State Director, Mike Demp asked Tom and Peg Maurer if they had any friends that would be interested in forming a Good Sam chapter. 13 couples showed up for a potluck dinner and Mike told us what we needed to do to form a chapter of our own.  All the couples were members of the Medina Family Campers which was not a Good Sam Club, but wanted to go to Samborees and park together, so we became the Medina Honeytown Sams.  The name was suggested by one of the campers, Barney Oldfield, and his granddaughter, Laurie Oldfield, designed our patch. Our goal was to have fun, attend the Samborees as a group and get together the rest of the year to either camp together or socialize.
